Anthony Janetos, Heinz Center, and fellow panelists Frmr Governor of Wyoming Jim Geringer, Allen Cook, Northrop Grumman, and David Carttar, Risk Management Solutions, take questions from the audience at the 2004 Forum.
One of the unique aspects of the Forum is the diverse range of people that attend. Where else will you find data providers, data users, government representatives and academic researchers in the same place at the same time? We endeavor to make the most of this unique atmosphere through roundtable discussions. As you register, you will be asked to sign up for one of six roundtable groups. A total of six roundtable discussions will be convened, with four of them focusing on the needs and interests of four specific sectors: energy, insurance and banking, public health, and water. Each of these sector-focused roundtables will engage industry experts in discussion of the following questions:
The Cyber Infrastructure Roundtable will examine the most current information architecture plans for IEOS and GEOSS.
The Human Component Roundtable will focus on the social challenges in implementing a global Earth-observing system and ensuring a "GEOSS-ready" workforce.
The resulting recommendations produced by the roundtables will be forwarded to appropriate U.S. and international Earth observation planning entities.
